Note from the founders
During the COVID-19 pandemic, it became apparent that there was a significant undersupply of key PPE resources for both medical professionals and everyday Americans within the US. It’s critical that we ask why? Whose responsibility is it during critical times to be prepared, to support the people and our key facilities. Obviously, there’s no clear answer however at Clinical Supplies USA we’re doing our part to contribute to the recovery of our nation. Affordable PPE equipment for both everyday Americans and healthcare professionals.
A few words of advice and answers to some key questions from our team:
Get your facts straight:
Don't buy into false information circulating on social media regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Ensure the information you’re getting is both up to date (considering how quickly the pandemic moves) and accurate. To do this most accurately, we recommend you visit the CDC website. There’s loads of valuable information on face masks, surgicals masks, antiviral solutions, virus protection and general healthcare.
Stay up to date:
In order to stay up to date - ensure sure you’re subscribed to multiple credible news sources. Your mobile phone is your key to success here, understand which geographical areas to avoid and where it’s most important that you wear a N95 mask, disposable face mask or KN95 mask.
Buy 3M masks:
If you want to support US made products, you can’t look past our 3M range. It’s one of the flagship N95 mask brand’s of the United States and we’re proud to provide this quality product to our customers. We currently offer a range of 3M N95 respirators including the 8511, 8210+ and the 1804s. Unlike most of our competitors - we’re proud to say our 3M range CAN be used for medical use, particularly given the fact that it is NIOSH approved. We have 3M options available for both retail (smaller volumes) and wholesale customers (bulk). If you’d like to run through the different options feel free to reach out to our customer service team (number at the top of the page) who will gladly help. Our customer service team has been working tirelessly around the clock to support our customers with their questions during this period.
Buy quality, at the right price:
Always check other websites to ensure a business’ pricing is consistent with what the market is indicating. With demand and supply levels having been so heavily shaken, it’s easy to purchase an N95 mask or KN95 mask out of desperation. Take your time, choose carefully. Our N95 masks, KN95 masks, face shields, disposable masks, hand sanitiser and nitrile gloves are all competitively priced and of high quality. Although, it’s not ALL about price. Make sure you fact check the product you’re about to purchase by speaking to a customer service representative and don’t be afraid to keep asking questions until you get the answers you're looking for. At Clinical Supplies USA we are proud to employ a customer service team that lives and operates LOCALLY, out of our office in San Diego. Supporting the US economy is something we are proud of (and the team loves a chat!).
Look for FDA certification:
Before purchasing an N95 mask make sure you check to see if there is an FDA certificate on the website. Keep in mind this doesn't mean the product is “up to standard” it just means it has been registered with the Federal Drug Administration. Fundamentally, it’s a step in the right direction towards ensuring that you’re purchasing a quality N95 respirator or KN95 respirator.
Make sure your product is being shipped from the United States:
Unfortunately, it has seemed to be a common occurrence that online retailers are taking customer orders and shipping the product from countries such as China or India. This can often take weeks to come through into the country and often gets held up in customs. If the product is genuinely shipped from the US it should only take between 1-3 days to arrive (allow another day for COVID-19 delays). At Clinical Supplies USA we offer UPS courier service as an option. We distribute out of our distribution centre at 8280 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, #122, San Diego, CA 92111. Virus protection, delivered to your doorstep within 1-3 days!
What can I do to stay healthy during the lockdown period?
Two words. Stay active. As we are spending a lot of time locked away in our homes, it’s really easy to forget to keep exercise levels up. With Gyms and parks closed, it’s easy to fall into the trap of slowing down. Walking around your house, doing pushups and situps, performing burpees can all help in keeping yourself strong and healthy. Of course, if you are planning to leave the house be sure to bring a bottle of hand sanitizer in your car, purse or pocket (the 100ml hand sanitizer bottles are great). We also strongly suggest wearing an N95 mask to stay extra safe! We also have face shields which can help if you need extra protection.
Which charities has Clinical Supplies USA worked with?
We are working hard on doing our part during this Pandemic - we have donated masks to the Salvation Army, American Melanoma Foundation and The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank. We are proud to be able to give back to our communities during a time when it’s needed the most. If you’re representing a charity or are in need of help, reach out and we will do what we can to support you. The 3M N95 masks that we have for sale are best used in equipping our front line workers and our customers actively fighting COVID-19.
N95 respirator usage time depends on the practical considerations (specific needs of the user). That said, N95 respirators have been seen to function with their specifications for approximately 8 hours. This 8 hour period can be used continuously or intermittently. That said, it is important to consider the environment the masks are being used, and the hygienic concerns in those areas. If extended use of the N95 respirator is deemed necessary, it is imperative to protect the respirators from contamination, specifically limiting contact with surfaces and keep hands and faces clean. Any N95 respirator that is contaminated with blood, respiratory or nasal secretions, or other bodily fluids must be discarded.
N95 respirators achieve a very tight facial fit and are very effective in the filtration of airborne particles. N95 means that under accurate testing, the masks block 95% of 0.3 micron particles. N95 respirators offer some of the highest levels of protection, and are much more efficient than surgical masks or other PPEs. In an environment with hygienic concerns, these masks are some of the best available. Also, if one is surrounded by many people, N95 respirators will do the best in blocking particles from others. Towels or bandanas may be able to block larger air particles, but N95s can block the smaller ones that could result in respiratory problems. These respirators are designed to protect against dust, fumes, mists, aerosols, and smoke particulates.
N95 respirators are a type of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that protect the wearer from airborne particles and liquid contaminating the face and potentially infecting the user. N95 respirators are also Air-Purifying Respirators (APR) that are certified by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). The N stands for “Non-Oil.” This mean that if no oil-based particulates, one can use these masks in the work environment. The 95 stands for the percentage of efficiency, so N95 are 95% efficient. The minimum size of 0.3 microns and larger particulates will kit pass through the barrier 95% of the time.
At Clinical Supplies USA we proudly sell American made N95 respirators. We sell respirators with different shapes, and all of our N95 respirators are NISOH approved. These are some of the best PPE available and are a valuable option for infection prevention. In addition to N95 respirators, we have hand sanitizers, gloves, face shields, and other PPE.
N95 mask usage depends on the risk associated with the environment. That said, 8 hours is used as an approximate guideline. Environments where there is a higher probability infection should be replaced in less than 8 hours. The overall 8 hour period can be used continuously or intermittently. That said, if they are used intermittently, it is crucial they are properly stored to prevent contamination of the masks. One must limit surface contact. The surfaces that the N95 masks do come in contact with must be disinfected in order to prevent contamination. Hands are faces must also be kept clean in order for the N95 masks to be as effective as possible. If blood, respiratory or nasal secretions, or other bodily fluids are present on the N95 masks, they need to be replaced.
N95 masks should be used in an environment where the wearer is worried about possible infection. These masks are some of the best PPE available as they filter out 95% of 0.3 micron particles. These masks also have a very tight facial fit, which adds to its effectiveness in blocking about potentially harmful particles. Surgical masks, towels, or bananas may block larger particles, but N95 masks are capable of blocking’s smaller particles that can result in respirator problems. These masks are designed to protect against dust, fumes, mists, aerosols, and smoke particulates.
