Current patents for N95 masks

What does the patent of any product mean?

We live in a global economy where goods are made, exported, and sold around the world so you must secure a patent in certain countries to prohibit others from producing, using, selling, or promoting your invention for sale in other countries.

If you patent a product, it means that you have accepted that your invention is new, original, and useful (not an idea). A patent grants you the right to prohibit your invention from being made, used, sold, marketed for sale, or imported by anyone in the country where your patent has been given.

Governments grant patents pursuant to, and in compliance with their rules and regulations, their existing laws. For instance, in the United States, recognition comes from the Patent and Trademark Office of the United States. Depending on the form of patent, a patent is granted for a term of 14 to 20 years.

N95 masks:

N95 masks are predominantly industrial safety masks in the United States. They are dust masks that comply with NIOSH norms. N95 masks can avoid the inhalation of toxic airborne particles in certain dusty working environments. N95 masks are ideal for the emissions of mountain fire smoke as well. Protective effects. Therefore, in hardware stores and home improvement stores, N95 masks are usually simpler to obtain. You can also consider wearing N95 masks for when you want to do carpentry, stir cement, etc. at home.

N95 face filtrating respirator can block and filter the big and small particles of bacteria, viruses, dust, and any other viral diseases. 3M:

3M is the current patent of N95 masks. The 3 M Corporation is an American multinational conglomerate company involved in the fields of industry, worker welfare, health care, and consumer goods in the United States. The company manufactures more than 59,000 products under different brands, including adhesives, abrasives, laminates, passive fire prevention, window films, paint protection films, etc.

3 M invented and accepted the N95 respirator mask in 1972. Being able to filter viral particles, its use was recommended during the COVID-19 pandemic, but supply quickly became short. Before the outbreak, most of the company's supply had already been sold.

As the coronavirus pandemic grows again in parts of the world, 3 M has started to scale up production of its N95 respirator masks, Chairman and CEO Mike Roman told CNBC. "We are bringing capacity on. We are making more N95 respirators than ever, and we'll continue to add some capacity as we go into the end of the year, into next year," Roman said on "Squawk on the Street."

Indeed, 3M is the biggest marketplace for manufacturing N95 face filtrating masks in the world. But 3M is facing pressure from the Trump administration.3 M has been criticized by the president and others, with some officials saying it makes or even facilitates profiteering during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The presidential order orders Pete Gaynor, Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, to" use any and all authority available under the Act to procure the number of N-95 respirators that the Administrator considers to be necessary from any appropriate subsidiary or affiliate of 3 M Business.

DID BILL GATES and Harrington PATENT A ‘CV19-N95’ FACE MASK DESIGN YEARS BEFORE THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC?

Under the Obama Administration, neither Gates nor Harrington filed a patent for a face mask. A satirical meme derives from the picture.

In 2015, Gates filed a patent for a face mask concept with a serial number linked to COVID-19 to prevent Harrington from successfully filing a similar patent the same year for the image being exchanged. There is a picture of a man dressed in a business suit below the document, who is probably Harrington.

Apparently, the text in the picture ties the suspected serial number, CV19-N95, to the names associated with the coronavirus pandemic: COVID-19, a new coronavirus outbreak, and N95, a form of the protective mask worn by health care workers and first responders.

No such patent exists in the U.S., contrary to the post's claim, Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) database of patents under the name of Gates or Harrington's. According to the rules of the USPTO, the supposed serial number does not meet the criteria for a USPTO patent application. For mask designs, Gates does not appear to hold any patents.
