How Direct Relief boost PPE deliveries to COVID hotspots

The novel coronavirus has hit the United States hard. There is a reason behind it. When the pandemic began, the carelessness shown by the president of the United States, Donald Trump is a part of why it has hit the United States hard. When the pandemic began in the United States, everyone, including the Trump administration would not take it seriously.

Donald Trump would not take the severity of the virus seriously. He said that this virus (COVID-19) resembles the normal flu, and he downplayed the severity of COVID-19 by saying stuff like it is normal flu, and you do not have to worry about it because this virus is not that lethal. Furthermore, he would not encourage taking precautionary measures.

He could have chosen to warn the public as to how severe the virus is; instead, he would not do that. As a result, the majority of the public did not take the virus seriously and continued to carry out their regular activities without following the precautionary measures, which were to maintain social distance, wear N95 respirators, and use hand sanitizers after returning home.

Because of this carelessness, there have been 9 million reported cases of COVID-19, and the death toll has risen to 230,000. It has been expected that the U.S. will have had 200,000 more casualties because of COVID-19 until Christmas. Donald Trump is the one who should have been somewhat aware of the virus, but he was not.

Moreover, the United States has been reporting 100,000 reported cases of COVID-19 for a week, and more than 5000 Americans are losing their lives because of this lethal virus every day. Areas like Montana and Idaho, where there were low amounts of COVID-19 cases, are now experiencing a rapid increase in COVID-19 cases while cities like New York and Brooklyn are experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases.

Because of the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases, the areas have experienced an immense shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like surgical masks, N95 respirators, face shields, and a slew of other imperative PPEs. These are the hotspots where there is less amount of PPE and an immense amount of COVID-19 cases.

Direct Relief has started providing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to healthcare facilities, which have raised their concerns regarding PPE in these areas to suppress the terrifying spread of COVID-19. Furthermore, they have fastened their deliveries to these hotspots to curb the spike in COVID-19 cases and help the public out.

Since the novel coronavirus began, Direct Relief has continuously provided a large amount of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to small as well as large healthcare facilities. Such PPE includes N95 respirators, hand sanitizers, surgical masks, and other essential PPE to 50 states of the United States of America (USA).

Direct Relief has provided essential Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to around 246 hospitals around the United States in the last two weeks. These healthcare facilities include nursing homes, free clinics, small healthcare facilities, large healthcare facilities, hospitals, and community healthcare centers, etc.

These shipments had multitude amounts of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like isolation gowns, gloves, face masks, N95 respirators, face shields, pulse oximeters, thermometers, and vaccines for healthcare providers, doctors, and nurses at healthcare facilities. Direct Relief boosts PPE deliveries to COVID-19 hotspots through shipments to various states of the U.S.

New York has been experiencing a drastic increase in COVID-19 cases as a result of non-seriousness practiced by locals even though thousands of people are being killed as a result of COVID-19. Brownsville Health Center will receive essential PPE like surgical masks and N95 respirators for healthcare employees; this is because this healthcare facility has been working hard during COVID-19 to help the public. Although COVID-19 has devastated New York since it began, the city has experienced a surge in COVID-19 cases, which is an alarming situation!

Therefore, the healthcare facility required essential PPE like surgical masks to continue working hard for the public and keep individuals safe. In Montana, there has been a spike in COVID-19 cases. Therefore, Direct Relief has sent 10,000 N95 respirators, hand sanitizers, and other crucial PPE to healthcare facilities of Montana to help them during this terrifying time.

In Idaho, the organization sent various PPE healthcare facilities to assist them in tackling this pandemic. Since the pandemic began, Direct Relief has been through trials and tribulations to provide healthcare facilities with crucial PPE during this terrifying time. Direct Relief has provided the healthcare facilities of the United States with 24000 shipments with a plethora of essential PPE.

These shipments had 7 million gloves, 43 million masks, and millions of other PPE items; all of these items have been provided to 1900 healthcare facilities like health clinics, nursing homes, community healthcare centers, and various other healthcare facilities since the start of the pandemic.

All of these shipments had crucial PPE for the healthcare providers, who have put their lives on the line to save the lives of the infected individuals.

Conclusion

It has been expected that the second wave of COVID-19 in the United States will start in winter, which means that the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths will increase. Direct Relief will continue their hard work to provide the healthcare facilities of the United States with tons of PPE when the need arises in the future.
