Lack of medical equipment and resources forces hospitals to use sterilization methods such as steam treatment, hydrogen peroxide, and dry heat treatment.

These methods consume less time. In addition to that, it is an economical way to sterilize an N95 respirator. Big healthcare facilities like hospitals use techniques such as ultraviolet germicidal irradiation; this is because these facilities have medical equipment that does the process of germicidal irradiation. Time decontamination is one of the slowest processes for disinfecting a contaminated N95 respirator. Hence, that is how hospitals decontaminate N95 respirators.
